These skills are also necessary for your education and employment in Canada. There are many organizations that can help you improve your literacy skills in Durham Region.
Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) programs
The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) funds Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) programs across Ontario. Each program is tailored to help you in your education or career goals.
There are six organizations that provide LBS classes:
- Durham Catholic District School Board.
- Durham District School Board.
- Durham College.
- Durham Deaf Services (if you are hard of hearing).
- John Howard Society Durham.
- Literacy Council of Durham Region.
